Form FAQ
- How detailed should my description be?
- You don't have to include every single detail here. Those details will be finalized once we've agreed on a price. For this form, include a 1-2 sentence description of the idea, including color, material (if applicable), and any details you feel are crucial. If this is a cosplay, please also indicate if you need a total costume or just specific pieces.
- What are design services, and how do I know if I need them?
- Design services are useful for those who have a general concept in mind, but not a specific idea of how to execute it. For a small additional fee, Ily's will create a specific design from your general concept.
- If in doubt, you can mark "unsure". Ily's will work with you to determine if design services are necessary.
- Fandom? This isn't for cosplay.
- That's okay! Ily's serves a variety of costume and clothing needs, not just cosplay! If this doesn't apply to you, you may leave this field blank or mark "none".
- What do you mean "special needs"?
- Ily's is proud to fully serve the disability community. Special needs can include, but are not limited to:
- Use or avoidance of specific types of fasteners, such as buttons, snaps, or zippers
- Use or avoidance of specific materials to accommodate allergies or sensory needs
- Items that are inclusive of and/or designed to work with mobility devices
- If you do not have special needs, you may leave this field blank or mark "none"
Commission FAQ
- What kind of costs can I expect?
- Exact costs will vary significantly based on materials and complexity of the design, however, the majority of our pieces end up being between $100-$200.
- Is this where I get specific?
- Yes. When discussing your Custom Creation with Ily's, this is the time to go detail-by-detail to make sure you're getting what you want.
- This is especially important for cosplay situations in which there may be multiple variations on the same costume. Be specific about which variation you're looking for.
- How are measurements taken?
- Ily's does not personally take measurements. You will need to take them yourself. Ily's recommends having someone assist you to ensure accuracy of measurement. Ily's will send you a guide to how to take accurate measurements.
Payment FAQ
- When do I pay?
- Once details have been agreed upon, Ily's will send you an invoice through PayPal. Half of the item cost is due immediately, the other half plus shipping upon completion. Ily's will not begin work on your project until the first payment has been made.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- All invoices are sent through PayPal. They can be paid directly through PayPal or with a debit or credit card.
- How are shipping costs calculated?
- Ily's ships all items by USPS Priority Flat Rate unless the customer specifically requests otherwise. This allows us to determine an exact shipping cost even before we begin work on your Custom Creation.
- If you request another shipping method, Ily's will calculate shipping based on an estimate of the anticipated weight of the item.
General FAQ
- How long does this process take?
- Most Custom Creations will take between four and six weeks to complete. You may ask for a shorter deadline if you wish, however, Ily's reserves the right to decline this request or to charge a premium for rush service.
- Very simple costumes may take less than four weeks; unusually complex ones may take more. Rush service terms will be applied based on Ily's estimate of what the normal completion window would be.
- At what point can I no longer change my mind?
- You may choose to cancel or withdraw your order at any time until the first payment is made. This payment is non-refundable and constitutes an agreement to purchase the item.
- In terms of details, you may request modifications at any time. However, once payment has been made, the decision on whether or not to honor the request will be made at our discretion.
